A certain virus, sad to relate, has been rampant in our ranks.... we understand the medical term for it is frigiditum with particular involvement of the scribo! Until such time as our afflicted menfolk can shake this terrible epidemic, would you wives care to guest edit? One caution, gals, please no scented manuscripts .... remember, we're getting pretty feeble and reactions to that sort of thing can be pretty severe.
Right about now AI Gibney should be back at full strength; Gib finally discovered what for a long time had been giving him the sacro in his iliac, so, had himself hospitalized around the first of October while they carefully separated him from a ruptured vertebra disc.
On a clear day you can see Connie Wickham at 1300 Market Street, Philadelphia .... a division manager at Wanamakers, Connie's influence extends over three floors and the men's store; nights and Sundays he and Helen are regular sitters for Terry, six goin' on seven and Kathy, one. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy and we're glad to see Vic Sabary got himself elected to the presidency of the Dartmouth Club of Central New Jersey. Another Jerseyite, the one known to lecture at Columbia University on radio and television, is none other than Bob Button, we calculate his vocation contributes to a first-hand knowledge of the subject since Bob is currently an NBC account executive, "concerned with sales and programming aspects in the selective use of NBC network stations."
There's a real estate law firm, Hay and Dailey, at 201 Devonshire Street, Boston, which if you remove the Hay, leaves partner Fred Dailey, who, in between clients, is looking for you guessed it, real estate! We were sorry to learn that Jack McKallagat's wife Janet was a victim of polio in August; it is more pleasant to hear that she is coming along well and is scrapping hard to minimize the permanent effects which we all hope will be nothing short of complete recovery Jack, incidentally, is ace newsman for the Lawrence (Mass.) Tribune and in accepted fashion, reports fellow townsman JohnnyReardon as the lawyer most likely to keep you out of solitary in Northern Massachusetts.
Hold the presses!! We just got word that Dick Wilson has just been named Vice President and Assistant to the President of Avco Mfg. Company good going K.R., and congratulations! Over the country a goodly number of '36ers are serving the College by interviewing prospective material for Hanover; interviewing chairmen in the Southern New York-Northern New Jersey area this year are Paul Guibord, Pinky Conklin and Kirk Liggett with Jacko Morrison as Alumni Councilor in charge.... similar service is being rendered by George McCleary in the Darien, Conn., area and by Jerry King in the Schenectady, N. Y„ territory.
Infantidings this trip include a second son Pete for the old right-hander and Dot Olson. Ted reports Dave, now four, suffered temporarily from the customary dislocation of the proboscis .... a first child and he is GeofErey Eugene for Pep and Ricki Mintz; Jeff was time stamped October 5 and proud pappy Pep observes he has definite tendencies toward football October 9 and number one boy, Donald, made the total three for the Ken Langlers of Braintree, Mass.; Ken is state agent for the Phoenix of Hartford Group.
Without question the high spot of the Harvard-Dartmouth weekend was FrankWeston's 2nd annual victory cocktail party. Setting for same was your treasurer's brand new ultra swank apartment at 100 Memorial Drive, Cambridge, where, believe us, the layout is terrific! At one time there were 44 happy humans babbling and toasting or vice versa.... in typical fashion, Frank sums up the affair: "No one over the terrace, no windows broken—very quiet (?) crowd." Seen at the game or at the party and we'll do our best to remember were: Frank Higgins, Ted Whitmore, Oscar Goodman, Ellie and Don Erion, Jane and Fred Shurts, Jack McKalligat, Janet and Dick Knight, Bill Macurda, Phyllis and Cliff England, Jean and Len Mead, Ginnie and Pete Fitzherbert, Laura and Tommy Thomas, Evvie and Ed Nilsson, Betty and Bob Houlihan, Helen and Ed Higbee, Gib and Vin Wentworth, Charlotte and Jerry King, Rose and Harry Coronis, June and Mac Hill, Julia and Fred Dailey, Des Stewart, Carlotta and Bill Murray, Esther and Tony Muello, Bets and Doc Ingersoll, plus guys and gals like the Bob Saywells '33, Jack Gilberts '34 and Dan Reagans '35 .... whew!
