Babies are always good news and we have Kathy and Paul Lynch to congratulate in this department for the latest addition to the class. Barbara Jean Lynch was born on June 15 in Old Greenwich, Conn., and joins brother Barry twelve, Wendy seven, and Nancy six. The proud father is a lawyer with N. B. C. in New York Tithe editor, Jack McKallagat, had a baby daughter in May, and congratulations to you, fellow scribe. Jack his his own insurance agency in Lawrence, Mass.

Grandchildren are also news and a lot of fun, as evidenced by this good letter from Dugald Porter of 1428 Carlos Avenue, Burlingame, Calif.

Dear John, Don't know how many grandfathers there are among the '36ers but anyhow, suffice it to report that I penetrated the realm of grandparenthood on May 10 when daughter Elizabeth (Mrs. Carl Schaefer Jr., Williamsville, N. Y.) gave birth to a bouncing 6 lb. 8 oz. baby girl, Susan Lynn. Attending at inception was none other than '35's Assistant Class Joy and Buffalo's venerable obstetrical tactician, Dr. Milf Childs. According to last reports, mother and daughter are fine - grandfather's vigor is questionable.

Best regards to all '36 grandfathers - and nongrandfathers. Dug Porter.

The '36 summer party at Brint Schorer's estate on Lake Winnipesaukee in August was delightful. This outing was co-sponsored by Brint, Pete Fitzherbert, Dick Morton and Paul Cleveland. Guests attending were Boband Bert Densmore, Harry and Rose Coronis, Bob and Dot Keller, Dan and Ernestine Doan, Joe Livingston, Art Greene, John and Nancy Sawyer, Brad and Kay Chase, Madine Morton, Doris Schorer, Barbara Fitzherbert and Brint Schorer Jr., a senior at Boston University who was recuperating from a motor scooter accident. Nearly everyone took a try at water skiing while Brint pulled the rope in his Century. It took a bit of fun to try to launch Pete Fitzherbert who weighs about 240 pounds these days, and your secretary finally got going on a i/2 mile run after some pushing and pinching by Dick Morton in the water and advice from all on the dock. Some fancy water skiing was exhibited by Bob Densmore, Bob Keller and Dan Doan. Art Greene, who came to the party in his speed boat from his home on the lake, powered Brint on skis for his turn. Dot Keller was the champion in the ladies' division. A dinner, libations, moonlight boat riding and dancing ended the evening.

Summer news is in rich supply. Baxter Fullerton has been promoted from assistant to the vice president in charge of sales to director of marketing for Warner & Swazey Co. in Cleveland, Ohio Joe Bishop has been promoted to a full professorship at the Yale Law School. Joe gave up a private law practice in New York two years ago to join the Yale faculty. Before that he served the United States government holding such posts as Deputy General Counsel of the Army, Assistant to the General Counsel in Frankfurt and Bonn and special assistant to the U.S. Attorney General. Joe is married, has one child and lives at 64 Sidehill Road, Hamden, Conn. Sumner Burrows has been elected a vice president of Haas Brothers in San Francisco. He is also general manager of the Liquor Division which has many branch stores on the Pacific Coast. Formerly with Filene's in Boston and the May Store in St. Louis, Sig went to the West Coast in 1945 after service in the Navy. He is a director of the Wine & Spirits Wholesale Association and a past president of the Northern California Liquor Dealers Assoc. Bob Prentice has been promoted to director of marketing services of Lever Brothers Company in New York. This gives Bob staff responsibility for all promotional activities of the company. He will continue to supervise the marketing information unit which he formerly headed.

George Hambleton is running for election to the board of education this fall in Nashua, N. H. George, who has been a city alderman, runs the New England Bobbin & Shuttle Co. and has five children, one of whom, George Jr., is a senior at Dartmouth. Roger Williams has established his own public relations firm in Portland, and named it "Creative Associates." Roger was formerly publisher of the Gannett newspapers in Maine. Al Bunker has moved to Tucson, Ariz., as district sales manager of the Standard Oil Co. of California. Dick Treadway was given an honorary degree by the Leicester (Mass.) Junior College. Phil Mclnnis of Concord, N. H., was elected to the Dartmouth Alumni Council; and Ken Lieber of Los Angeles was reelected, each for a two year term. Capt. Bill Mack, a member of the Massachusetts State Police force for 22 years, has been transferred to command the barracks at Framingham. So if you exceed the speed limit on the eastern end of the Massachusetts Turnpike, you may be able to test the "old school ties."

Dr. Robert T. Walker was made a Fellow in the American College of Physicians. Bob is president of the staff of the Memorial Hospital in Brattleboro and secretary-treasurer of the Vermont Society of Internal Medicine. He has two children, Robert T. Jr. and Susan, who with his wife, the former Evelyn McCann of Waterbury, Conn., completes the family.

Steve Stotzer, the "monument king of Milwaukee," has just bought out the other members in his firm which has been in his family for 86 years. Steve says he sees Morris Jones of Montpelier, Vt., frequently when he is in New England buying granite and marble. Steve is looking forward to our 25th reunion. He will bring his family, including three children, Sara age nine, Marna seven, and David five.

Art Toan has been elected to the board of trustees of the Mental Health Consultation Center of Bergen County, N. J. Art is a partner in Price Waterhouse and is frequently flying to foreign lands on special assignments. Despite these business demands he is very active in other civic and cultural affairs in northern New Jersey. He lives on Dogwood Drive in Saddle River. Ed Jacobson is a neighbor at E. Allendale Avenue, Saddle River.

When the plumbing supply company liquidated where George Tillinghast had been working for many years, George decided to start in business for himself. So if you want plumbing and heating supplies in Providence, R. I., or eastern Connecticut, George is the man to call. He writes, "We have a daughter, Monnee, who is a senior at Lincoln School in Providence and a son, Pete, who will be ready for Dartmouth in four years and he really wants to go. Have missed the '36 parties after the Yale games because we usually go with my brother, a Yale man, who lives near New Haven. Will try to make a point this year of being at Tamburi's Yankee Silversmith." This is a good note on which to end the news this month; put the after-the-Yale-game-party on your program for the evening of October 31. Don't stay away because you go to the game with friends; bring them. In the past many classmates have brought friends, even Yale men.

Secretary, 16 Hickory Lane Darien, Conn.

Treasurer, 753 Upper Blvd., Ridgewood, N. J.
