Pardon us for pointing .... but spring fever has successfully attacked our souls (and pens) —with the discouraging result that this month's round-up is meager and, we're afraid, much too localized. But here's what we have ....

Spring fever notwithstanding, there are two guys we know who aren't loafing these days. Not when there are diapers to be changed and formulae to be brewed. Ed Higbee reports his clan is all in good shape but busy, busy, thanks to the arrival on February 24 of Richard Lee Higbee The very same holds true for the Kirk Liggetts, since Kirk Jr.—6 lbs.-6 oz. worth—put in his appearance on April 16. Welcome, fellers! —i

If you have a television set—and if you're within eye's view of New York stations—you may have seen what Herb Beskind for one described as a first-rate televersion of Bud Schulberg's "What Makes Sammy Run." And most important about the news that Tex and Jinx now have their own telecast spot, "Preview" is that the producer of said show is DangScherman. We caught a few minutes of it last Thursday (CBS-TV—or whatever it is), and enjoyed it.

Ralph Butler has joined our one-time alma mater, Benton & Bowles ad agency, as a radio director. That assignment is right down his alley, Ralph having served on the radio directorial staff of Young & Rubicam.

Dick Treadway was elected president of the Treadway Inns at the organization's annual board meeting recently. He'll head up the 14-hotel combination—famous throughout the East. We never knew, until we saw the official release, that the Treadway Inns cater for several schools and colleges—among them, the Loomis School, Mt. Holyoke, Andover, Governor Dummer Academy, Tanglewood Music School, etc., etc. Good Luck, Dick.

We see by the papers that Rial Peck has been appointed an assistant secretary of the life department of the Travelers Insurance Cos. He's been with the company since graduation, except for two years Pacific duty with the Army Signal Corps.

Norm Allen, assistant professor of social science at the New Haven State Teachers' College, is president of the New Haven branch of The American Association for the United Nations, Inc. In this capacity, he's called upon to do much public speaking.

Dick Knight, formerly with Scovell, Wellington & Cos., has opened his own offices "for the general practice of accounting, taxes, audits and systems." His new headquarters—the Transit Building, 108 Massachusetts Ave., Boston.

Dr. John Shaw had a residency at Bellevue Hospital, New York, where he specializes in blood diseases. Three days a week he serves at the famous Memorial Hospital Cancer Clinic.

Major Frank Curtis is assigned to the Plans Division, Hq. Military Air Transport Service in Washington. Apparently this assignment is of sufficient permanence to allow his setting up house at 7221 Forest Rd., Kent Village, Landover, Md.

A plug for the Alumni Fund is very much in order. Send in your contribution nowand please make it as much as you can. Even though you act today, you will still continue to receive Joe Cunningham's brilliantly edited Tithe. So, you won't be losing out if you're one of the early birds. As for your news—send it to Joe—send it to us. It makes little difference, as long as it eventually gets served up to you.

We're too excited to conceal the fact that the above morsels of news will be carried up in person to Hanover headquarters. And we can't think of anything we'd rather do. We'll be picking up some local gossip, breathe in the incomparable Hanover air, keep our recollections vivid—and report them to you in the Fall. Have a good summer. We'll be back in October.
