By request of the higher paid help this is that short month again when the Alumni Fund report appears in public. Please recall that we are proud of ourselves as a class to have outdone any of our previous records, better than 400 givers, and a good record for the books. In looking through the list what reason do YOU have if your name does not appear? As a class we owe a large vote of thanks and appreciation to Al Bryant for his tireless efforts and tremendous enthusiasm on behalf of the Fund as well as to the many assistant agents and others who put in their time to make the whole campaign a success.

Although we had planned to give a good report on the class attendance at the Michigan game as supplied by two excellent reporters, Fred Castle and Bill Montei, that will have to wait a month. We can slide in here that there was a class smoker Friday night before the Harvard game at the University Club in Boston which became organized on very short notice. Those attending were MonkAmort, Les Barrett, Fred Laughton, SteveButler, Jack Devlin, Al Bryant, John Handrahan, Bib Bankart and one ringer GeorgeColton '35. Fred is now with Jackson & Moreland, an engineering firm, working on a new power plant for Edison at North Weymouth; Steve, who was in town on business justified the mailing list of 130 names in New England for Boston functions by showing up at the dinner by dint of having an evening to kill in town on that night. He had been on a business trip for his wholesale florist outfit known as Butler & Ullman in Northampton, Mass. Jack stuck very close to his gingerale diet due to his recent ulcer kick-up and possibly aggravated by the government announcement that he and Charley Collis will henceforth have to smelt their own copper if they want to stay in business as the war effort will take it all. John got nabbed by some fellow football notable from another class and rushed away to help on a scouting assignment at some night game in Lynn but it was nice to have him for the cocktail hour.

Next year the Boston smoker should find a combination of our group with '36 and '38 to make a larger and more compatible showing as it has already been discussed.

A notice in the advance Textile Mill News says that the Merino Wool Cos. has recently moved its offices in Boston and the new set-up finds Dick Wood and another gent now in charge Fred Mayo has sold his house in Wellesley and is moving to Barrington, R. 1., where he plans to join up with an investment firm as their insurance partner. The business is located in Fall River, Mass Al Reinman, reported only last month as happy in his own business in Youngstown, 0., suddenly notifies us that he, being in the Reserves, has been recalled to active duty and given no time to close up his business. After much arguing etc., they finally extended him a few days but he reported to Langley Field and is in now as a Captain. He formerly served with the 36th Fighter Control Squadron in North China.

That's it for now except to wish everyonea fine holiday season and PLEASE TELLWIFEY TO SEND ME ONE OF YOURXMAS CARDS WITH NEWS. WHAT AWONDERFUL WAY TO GET OUT OFIT YOURSELFI
