You should receive this in mid-October and that will give you time to make a last-minute arrangement to attend our mini-reunion. Dates are October 28, 29 and 30. Hope to see you there. I found Harvey White. He summers at Wareham, Massachusetts, winters in Florida. He says he gave up on sailboats and now has a 48-foot power boat that he "sails" to Florida every winter. Harvey was a widower but a year and a half ago he married Judy. Congrats and best wishes. Stan Waterman wrote and sent me a picture of himself and son Gar '78 in their attire for a cable ride through the rain forest of Costa Rica. He reported that they dove with schools of hammerhead sharks off the coasts of Costa Rica and Colombia. But they survived and so did the sharks, I'm told. I had written about Phil Struhsacker and he now writes that in his recent visit to Arizona he visited Walt Snicken- berger and Ann Nielsen and then lunched with Bob and Jackie Kimball in Tucson. Kimballs winter in Tucson but live in Lebanon, New Hampshire, the rest of the year. "Obe" Obermayer called. He's having a big bash on September 4 in Washington, D.C. The occasion is his 80th birthday. "Song, dancing and buffet" are advertised. At our age, can there be much dancing? His WW II book is now being printed. Obe forecasts a huge rush to get a copy. Book signing date and place will follow.
A little late on this one but Doug Leigh had written me and enclosed copies of oil paintings he had done from his lasting memories of his own terrible experiences as a combat infantryman in the Battle of the Bulge. The paintings, 12 of them, will be on display October 19 to November 14 at the Society For Arts, New Canaan, Connecticut. I strongly recommend this if you're in the area.
I must report the deaths of Walter S. Bonsa, on June 4, and Edmund J. Sedney, on June 12. We extend our deepest sympathy to their families.
