The Dartmouth Pow-Wow held Friday evening, January 27, at the University Club in Winter Park was the largest gathering of Dartmouth men ever held in Central Florida. It was conducted under the auspices of the Dartmouth Club of Winter Park, which is the recognized alumni organization for this area. There were sixty present, including alumni of the College with their wives and guests from Eustis, Deleon Springs, Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach, Coronado Beach, Winter Park and Orlando.
There was an informal social hour and dinner, after which Colonel Frank W. Halliday '01, club president, who acted as toastmaster introduced Dr. Arthur M. Wilson, Professor of Biography and Government at Dartmouth, who was present as the official representative of the College. In his address, Professor Wilson brought news from the campus scene and discussed developments and trends in the growth and progress of the College. He touched upon significant points concerned with the relations of the College to the faculty, the students, improvements and additions to plant and facilities and matters of educational policy and program.
In lighter vein brief remarks were made by James W. Newton '86, the oldest alumnus present, and John Everatt 49' youngest. Others who spoke included Dr. Fred L. Pattee '88, Dr. Edwin O. Grover '94, R. W. Hatch '02, and Richard C. Plumer '12. The evening closed with the singing of old campus favorites. Verily, a good time was had by all.
