The annual Pow-Wow held April 10 at the University Club in Winter Park brought together the largest Dartmouth group ever as- sembled in the history of this club. The meeting was high-lighted by the presence of President Dickey, then making a swing through Florida and the Southeast to visit various alumni clubs. Eighty-two persons turned out to greet Dr. Dickey and to hear him tell of the progress and plans of the College.
Our Club President, Frank W. Halliday '01 ably represented the club members, as master of ceremonies, and appropriately introduced President Dickey and the other speakers.
Classes from 1886 down to those of recent years were represented to give a chronological cross-section of the alumni group and certify to the continuing interest and enduring loyalty so characteristic of the sons of Dartmouth. An unusual feature was greetings from the Class of 1846 by Miss Katherine M. Quint, who, upon receiving her Master's Degree at Dartmouth in 1896, was made an honorary member of the Class of 1846, then celebrating its Fiftieth Reunion in Hanover. The present generation of Dartmouth was represented by the members of the Crew, who were having spring training in Winter Park and doing some racing with other crews in Florida waters. Their cheering and singing added zest to the meeting and gave an authentic campus atmosphere to the festive occasion.
We were delighted to have with us BobPierce '25 of Miami and his good wife Connie, who drove President Dickey all the way up from the lower East Coast meeting via St. Petersburg. With Bob elected for a second term on the Alumni Council we know this area is well and ably represented. He brought us an encouraging word of a growing interest in Dartmouth among Florida boys planning to go to college and urged that all alumni be on the lookout for good material in their communities.
