HARVEY P. HOOD '18 of Boston was reelected Alumni Trustee of the College for a second full term of five years at the annual spring meeting of the Board in Hanover on June 10.
Mr. Hood, who was first chosen Alumni Trustee in December 1941 to fill the unexpired term of Edward S. French '06, when Mr. French was made a Life Trustee, was elected to his first full term in June 1945.
Known to his associates as a man of great energy, possessing the ability to get things done, Mr. Hood carries out his services to the College in addition to a full business career. Since 1936 he has been president of H. P. Hood and Sons, Inc., New England's largest distributors of milk and dairy products, and was its treasurer for 14 years before. As director of the Second National Bank of Boston, the Boston and Maine Railroad, and the Boys' Club of Boston; and as president of the International Association of Ice Cream Manufacturers, his administrative responsibilities have been widely varied. Active in college affairs during his undergraduate days, he later served on the Dartmouth Alumni Council for the period 1938-42; and as chairman of the Alumni Fund Committee conducted two outstandingly successful drives in 1941 and 1942.
