Two new Alumni Trustees of the College were elected at the annual fall meeting of the Dartmouth Board of Trustees on October 19. Lloyd D. Brace '35, president of the First National Bank of Boston, was chosen to fill the unexpired term of Harvey P. Hood 'lB of Boston; and Thomas B. Curtis '33 of St. Louis, United States Congressman from the 12th Missouri district, was elected to fill the unexpired term of Dudley W. Orr '39 of Concord, N. H. The Alumni Trustee vacancies were created last June when Mr. Hood and Mr. Orr were elected Life Trustees. In filling these unexpired terms, Mr. Brace will serve on the Board until 1955 and Mr. Curtis until 1954.

A resident of Charles River, Mass., Mr. Brace has been affiliated with the First National Bank of Boston since 1925 and has been president since 1947. He is a trustee of the Massachusetts General Hospital, Phillips Academy in Andover, and the Boston Museum of Science. He also serves as a director of the National Life Insurance Cos. of Montpelier, Vt., Gillette Safety Razor, U. S. Smelting, Refining, and Mining Cos., the Boston Five Cent Savings Bank and the First National Bank of Boston. A graduate of Andover, Mr. Brace was president of the DOC while at Dartmouth and directed Carnival in 1925. He still enjoys outdoor activities and participates in them as his time allows. He served on the Dartmouth Athletic Council from 1944 through 1947, acting as president the last two years. He was also a member of the Alumni Council from 1942 through 1944, and for two years was a member-at-large. He is the father of three sons and a daughter. Two sons are now at Dartmouth: Robert, a senior, and Richard, a sophomore.

Mr. Curtis, who is a member of the law firm of Biggs, Curtis and Crossen in St. Louis, was elected to Congress last year. The district he represents is one of the largest in the United States. A member of the St. Louis County Republican Central Committee from 1946 through 1950, he was chosen by the Missouri Supreme Court to represent the State Grievance Committee in 1947 and also served as a member of the State Board of Law Examiners. When Ohio's Senator Taft campaigned for the Republican Presidential nomination, Mr. Curtis acted as his campaign manager for the eastern half of Missouri. The youngest member at the time of his election, he became a member of the Dartmouth Alumni Council in 1936. He received his law degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 1935. Mr. Curtis, the father of four children, has three Dartmouth brothers: William S. Curtis '36, Ernest M. Curtis '37 and James W. Curtis '42.
