George M. Goulet '52 of Warren, R. 1., 22 years old, died at Dick's House of nephritis on December 14. Despite the knowledge of his impending death, he continued his studies and activities and endured the final stages of his illness with a courage and a cheerfulness that impressed the entire college community. A week before he died he bequeathed the corneas of his eyes to the eye bank of the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. He had suffered for three years from the kidney disease that caused his death.
Following graduation from Mt. St. Charles School in Woonsocket, R. X., Goulet served with the U.S. Army in this country and Japan. Entering Dartmouth in 1948, he was married to the former Betty Warner of Claremont, N. H., September 1949. Their son Thomas is three months old. Goulet was an English major and a member of Theta Delta Chi.
