Crew

After a month of conditioning toil on the rowing machines, Coach Jim Smith's crew went into the deep South during vacation, in search of hot sun, blue skies, and warm water. Stroking the varsity boat is Jim Toffey, who is one of the six returning veterans from last year's squad. The rest of the boat comprises Andy Timmerman, Pete Krehbiel, Frank Heinemann, Jack Unkles, Mar Mullen, and cox Brock Lewis, all veterans, and newcomers Bill Ford and Dick Dalbeck. The crew meets Tampa at Tampa, then Washington and Lee at Lakeland, and finally Rollins at Winter Park, Florida. Sounds like a nice life.
