The Administration Building has been experiencing some shifts and renovations of its own this spring. Through the remodeling of the basement and first floor, several of the administrative offices previously divided between the two levels are being consolidated into single working units that will enable them to function to much better advantage.

The intramural operation began last fall when the Dean of the Faculty moved from the basement to the second-floor space previously occupied by the Secretary of the College (now in Crosby Hall). The offices of the Dean of the College, formerly duplex, are all together now on the first floor. The new offices of the Comptroller occupy the southern side of the basement, and the Bursar's office has moved from the first floor to the northern side of the basement level. The Treasurer and his assistants will move to the front offices vacated by the Bursar's staff, and this in turn will free space for the consolidation on the first floor of the Office of the Superintendent of Grounds and Buildings, which has had numerous small auxiliary rooms in the basement in addition to its first-floor space. While all this movement has swirled about it, the Office of the Registrar has remained stationary, content with its new lights.

The reconstruction is being financed from special funds restricted for building use, particularly the Lewis and Emma W. Parkhurst Administration Building Maintenance Fund. Besides giving the building, Mr. Parkhurst made provision for a reserve fund which could be used in a variety of ways, including structural changes that the Trustees considered desirable in order to secure the greatest possible service from the building.
