The Advance Gifts Division of the Syracuse Red Cross Drive kicked off with a February 7 meeting. Team #8 of that endeavor is captained by yrs. trly, who assembled about him a group of workers made up entirely of Dartmouths, including Bob Neill and GardySpring '35, Bill McNulty '36, Chuck Bassett '37, Bill Morrow '41, and Rex Felton '45. The team is completed by Howard Dirks, executive veep of Carrier Corp. Howard was too valuable a man to pass by simply because he had not attended Dartmouth, but he announced that he had spoken at Tuck School a few years ago, so we promptly made him an honorary member of'-; thus the team remains all-Green!
Others participating in the Red Cross Drive are Carroll Edson '14, who is a division chairman in the regular drive, Bob Fairchild '29, and Tom Tormey '48.
Ran into Al Jacks "37 carrying a bucket of brew around at the hockey game t'other night, no doubt celebrating his Wah-Hoo- Wah in the February ALUMNI MAGAZINE. Having received a foreign travel fellowship from the Reid Foundation, AL sails for Europe next month. Mrs. Jacks, a French war bride, has recently become a citizen of this country.
Bill McNulty '36, chairman of the Interviewing Committee, is going full speed ahead on his fireside chats with prospective '56s and is doing a most excellent job, with the assistance of Wis Williams '36 and ChuckBassett.
Jim Scott '41 has returned to Syracuse after an absence of several years and is General Manager of the Protectall Safe Co. The Syracuse Rotary Club took Jim into the member- ship recently, to join Rotarians CharlieBrucker '22 and Norm Simpson '44.
Dr. Eber Resnick '33 became the proud papa of a bouncing girl on January 30.
Stan Barr '44 has moved to Syracuse from Auburn to get away from the office and closer to the Dartmouth Club meetings, the next of which will be on April 2. On that occasion, we will be honored with the presence of Dean Stearns Morse and Bob Allen '45 from the College.
We welcome two new members to Syracuse: LeRoy Cooley Jr. '37 and Veryl Wagner Jr. '47.
