At the Alumni Association of Boston dinner Feb 26, 1904 was represented by a group of hardy individuals, though many of the regulars were shivering in Florida. Judge Sewall and Gil Moulton with their usual enthusiasm and faithfulness were first. They were joined for the pre-dinner and post-dinner class party bv Lampee, Sexton, Woods, Maguire, Hobbs and Robinson. With Hinman, Mower and Rolfe in Clearwater, Florida, Bartlett in Sarasota Rollins in Palm Beach, and the presence of our reporter E.K.R. reflecting a return to his usual good spirits, our New England contingent can study the, seed catalogs now appearing in each mail, or maybe seed over the garden and get a radar controlled lawn mower.
Keep in mind the May 9th gathering of the seven classes at Schrafft's, West St., Boston. That will be the chance to make arrangements to see the 1902 gang when their 50th and our annual campus get-together converges in Hanover the Commencement weekend in eaily June. Give a thought to remaining for Hanover Holiday which begins June 9.
A letter just in from Ralph Sexton indicates that he is going to make up all these events in 1952 which he was obliged to give up last year. Dick Sexton '41 is still in plastic surgery at the Hospital and John Bartlett is in the class of '52-that makes up a stretcher squad with a chauffeur and surgeon in attendance at our Tune gathering.
It is rumored that Gil Moulton again takes over the helm of the Marshall House at York Harbor this year. He has given up many extracurricular jobs in York, York Harbor, York Village, and York Beach so there will be time on his hands to visit with any of the 04 family.
The Rollinses have been at Palm Beach tor a while during which Sid polished up his golf tools and probably they are now at Sarasota with the Bartletts. Who gives who the beatings will come next month.
Current news says the Harvard Stadium which Dartmouth built and dedicated by Myron's great team in 1903 will undergo surgery to the point of reducing the seating capacity to a mere 40,000 by removing the steel stands at the open end of the bowl and the men of 1904_Lampee, Rolfe, Mower, Sexton, Moulton, Johnson, Woods, Gale, Leverone, Bullock, Maguire and Bowles—who attended the 51 game will find a new outlook when they visit Cambridge next fall.
Jig Leverone retired in last month's issue and he has now been named to the new post of Chairman of Midway Airlines Inc., which provides shuttle air service to and from Midway Airport. He is one of the 33 stockholders of the airline and has a new address, 18 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago 3, Ill.
When you are reading this Beck Johnson will be enjoying the hospitality of Lairy Treadway 'OB at Royal Park Inn, Vero Beach, Florida. Beck has not been to Florida before and lest he should be lonesome I am appointing each man who is reading this to send him a letter at the Vero Beach address. Sallie will spend the time visiting her sisters. It's up to you fellows to keep Harry from being lonesome. Send him some fish worms, the musical scores of "My Irene" and his other favorite music, some market quotations, anything. This should be a complete surprise-Beck leaves for his two weeks on March 29, just before the MAGAZINE can reach him.
"Mage" Sharpe replies to Beck's reminder of Hanover for our Fiftieth: "Swat me down, that's one of the most whole-souled friendliest letters I've received in half a raccoon s age. As you say, this is the period when one becomes conscious of advancing years. Indeed yes. '54 or fight like 40.' Am planning to be there at the 50th Reunion. Don't see what can stop me now—unless the Grim Reaper has other plans. Am glad to hear news of the old class. I don't get much out here—15 miles east of Los Angeles."
