The friends and classmates of Fred LewisPattee will be interested to read the following item published in March in the Faculty Bulletin of The Pennsylvania State College:
"The autobiography of the late Fred LewisPattee, who retired in 1928 as professor emeritus of American literature, will be published
by friends of Dr. Pattee and the College. "Two years before his death on May 6, 1950, in Winter Park, Fla„ Dr. Pattee completed his biography, titled 'My World As in My Time.' It was deposited in the College Library along with the extensive writings in literature by Dr. Pattee and hundreds of rare volumes, magazines and manuscripts that had been presented to the College by Dr. Pattee.
Publication of the book will be supervised by a committee headed by Richard C. Maloney (Dartmouth '26), administrative assistant, Office of the President; William L. Werner, professor of American Literature; and Louis H. Bell, College editor and director, department of public information."
Our classmate, Pattee, was professor of American literature for 31 years at Pennsylvania State College, where his work was so highly regarded that the beautiful new Library Building was named in his honor.
Your scribe and wife have recently enjoyed a call upon John Lew and Mrs. Clark at their home in Exeter, N. H. It was good to find them both improved in health and keen about world affairs.
Don't forget to make your plans for "88's 65th reunion in June.
