From Martin J. Remsen '14, uncle of William Clinton Story Remsen '43, Dartmouth College has received a gift of $2,500 to establish a fund to be known as the William Clinton Story Remsen Memorial Scholarship Fund. The outright gift will be further supplemented by provisions in the wills of Martin Remsen and his wife. After serving as a lieutenant in the Naval Reserve, he took his law degree at Columbia in 1948 and was on the legal staff of Johnson & Johnson at the time of his death.
The basis of awarding the Remsen Memorial Scholarship has been only tentatively formulated, but it speaks fully to those who held Bill Remsen in admiration and esteem: "For a needy boy who most personifies the ideals and attributes that Bill had...."
