Dartmouth's stand on the NCAA plan of controlled television of football was made plain in a statement issued by William H. McCarter '19, director of athletics, following a statement by Harvard to the effect that Harvard was against the plan and did not intend to abide by it. Said Mr. McCarter, "Dartmouth College has consistently supported the successive NCAA plans for controlled television of college football, in the conviction that only through cooperative effort on a nationwide scale can any satisfactory solution be found for this difficult problem."
Dartmouth skiers Ralph Miller, Brooks Dodge, Bill Beck, Bill Tibbits and Tom Corcoran have been selected to participate in a training school for downhill and slalom competitors next winter. They were picked by the National Ski Association for this school which trains men for F.I.S. and Olympic Team competition. A total of 13 were selected from the nation and the five from Dartmouth gave the College the biggest representation. However, it will strip next year's Dartmouth ski team of the top five competitors and pose some real problems for Coach Walter Prager.
