February 22, 1882, the freshman Class of '85 went to Montreal for its first class supper. On the dinner menu was printed the class song written by Dick Hovey, who might have had in mind the 70th anniversary of our graduation, for the last stanza was a prophesy.

And when our youth has taken wing, And like a dream has fled, And when the hairs are thicker on each face, And thinner on each head, And children swarm about our knees, Like bees about a hive, Our thoughts will turn to Dartmouth, And the Class of '85.

Therefore: — by virtue of the authority vested in him, the secretary is calling Dr. Warren S. Adams, Dr. Edwin H. Allen and Dr.John P. Brooks to a class meeting in Hanover on June 11, 1955, for the purpose of observing the 70th anniversary of their graduation from the College in 1885. (Signed) Henry H. Austin, secretary.

When this is in print the secretary and Mrs. Austin will be at their St. Petersburg, Fla., home for the 32nd consecutive winter. Two loyal Dartmouth friends will be greatly missed, Herbert Gage '87, who is unable to go south, and Willard Aborn '93, who has passed away. Intimate friends are few indeed after one passes the 90-mark, but one never loses a fragrant memory.
