A small group of the Dartmouth 1905 family gathered February 19 in the Clearwater Beach Hotel to celebrate the 65th year of that illustrious class. This spot seemed to be one of the most appealing because of its salubrious climate and ease of approach by a considerable number of the Class. This year turned out to be cooler than usual, but still quite a good change from the unpleasantly severe weather in the North this season.
The first to reach Clearwater Beach was Roger Brown with Jane because he is the manager and founder of this annual event. We are grateful for Roger's care and success in setting up the excellent luncheon in most delightful and agreeable quarters. Billand Dorothy Blatner have the distinction of having traveled the farthest to reach Clearwater Beach. Your scribe and Mildred ran into a very bad bit of weather in leaving home; this storm delayed our flight from Newark Airport quite annoyingly but not seriously.
The rest of the group had shorter distances to travel to reach our rendezvous: the Bells, John and Lucy, from Clearwater, Fred Chase from Dunedin; C.C. Hills from Mt. Dora. We were happy to welcome Prof. Andrew Scarlett '10 and his wife to our '05 affair; like the Bells they live in Clearwater.
In a quite different locale Bob and EdnaFalconer were enjoying a trip through various parts of Mexico. Incidentally they took the opportunity to look up S. B. and LouiseCunningham in their very attractive ranch in Las Cruces, N. Mex. They found Louise well and active, but S. B. showing some effects of the passing years. He finds "taking it easy" rather more inviting than his former activities. Still he gets out his "1905 Reporter" on time filled with many interesting topics.
We are looking forward to June 12, 13, 14 in Hanover, our 65th and last official reunion. Be sure to make reservations at the Inn, if you have not already done so. "Oughty five Up!"
