After 46 years of service with the Postal Transport Service Bunny Piatt retired last August 31. A party was given him in White River Junction in honor of his long career. Congratulations, Bunny.

Walter G. Small writes that he is well and enjoying himself with a few small hobbies and quite a bit of travel. He is looking forward to being with us for the 50th.

The dedication of the fine new large high school in Natick, Mass., in the construction of which Sliver Hatch was the "big wheel," occurred the last week of October. After this Sliver will have more time to devote to another of his occupations - his membership on the Board of Directors of the Cooperative Grocery Store of Natick, which I understand is an exceptionally well-run store.

In a recent note Bob Harding writes that Bill and Bertha Clough, with their son Joe, had dropped in for a call. Their two grandsons, 15 and 13 years of age, are much interested in their pure-bred cattle and sheep. One of the boys took a first prize for steers at the N.E. State Exposition this fall.

Bob also reports that he had seen the Peysers recently. Harry had lost the front steps of his beach cottage in one of the hurricanes, but his son had recovered them.

Tommy Wiswall had the misfortune to fall in his office Labor Day and fracture his hip. This was particularly unfortunate as he had not yet fully recovered from the operation which he had undergone in March. Against his surgeon's orders he had done some practice during the summer.

The pre-Harvard game dinner of '05-'06 men at the Algonquin Club October 22 was a pleasant affair. It was under the general management of Sliver Hatch. Other '05 men present: Besse with nephew, R. W. Brown,Clough, Grover, Loder, Nourse, Parkinson,A. C. Smith. At the same time the following wives foregathered at the Statler: Mmes. Brown, Clough, Grover, Hatch, Parkinson and Anne Reid. Additional '05 men observed at the game: Weston and Haskell with his daughter. Would it be too much to say that this loyal turnout of '05 had its influence on the outcome of the game?

Late in October Ed Gilbert's wife Effie suffered a stroke. She is confined to bed in the Morristown Hospital at the present writing. Our sympathy goes out to Ed in these anxious days.

We hope that the '05-'06 Dinner at the New York Dartmouth Club will be well attended. This is Ned Redman's and Tub Besse's affair, set for December 10. I can assure you of a delightful evening.
