Reunion is uppermost in the minds of a large percentage of the class now that our Tremendous Twentieth is only about three months away. Mark the dates-June 17, 18 and 19 on your calendar and plan to join the gang in Hanover. And in case your woman has any doubts, she is definitely invited.
President Red Edgar was in Hanover February 2 and reports that he has the Reunion details well in hand. He has called a meeting of the class officers on February 15 at the Dartmouth Club in New York to go over the plans for what promises to be the biggest and best reunion we've ever had.
Of course letters will be sent later giving all the dope and asking your plans, but if you have decided to attend it would be helpful if you'd drop me a post card to that effect. Also the Reunion Committee would appreciate any suggestions you may have, and has even gone so far as to hint at valuable prizes for the best ideas for entertainment during the weekend.
Al Fusonie has been promoted from Personnel Manager of the Bristol, R. 1., plant of the Collins & Aikman Corp. to head of all personnel as of January 1. He will have to move to Philadelphia and right now is worrying about where he'll find a house.
Those of you who knew Prof. James Parmalee Richardson will never forget that the project dearest to his heart was to get more Dartmouth men to take an active part in politics. Well, after 20 years we finally have a classmate in Congress! John McGuire was elected to the House last Fall from the 3rd District in Connecticut on the Democratic ticket. Mack has been Town Clerk of Wallingford since 1934, and in 1946 was elected chairman of the Democratic State Central Committee. He also owns a general insurance agency in Wallingford.
The only other legislator we have is MurraySawyer who was elected last Fall to the New Hampshire Legislature on the Democratic ticket from Concord. He should feel complimented since he was elected in a Republican ward, and it was the only upset in the city. After serving as Clerk of the Superior Court for Grafton County for 12 years Murray returned to Concord, his native city, and opened his own law office in September, 1947- In April, 1948, he ran successfully for the school board of Concord. He says, "There should be more from the class of 1928 serving in legislative bodies."

Bill McBoberts left Pan American Airways and Bermuda last September to become a stockholder, director and treasurer of The Jackson Company, Detroit Lakes, Minn., wholesale distributors of groceries, feed, beer, or practically anything you want to buy. When Bill wrote his letter he had one son, Billy, aged 11/2, but Judy was in the maternity ward and he was waiting for news. A postscript states it was another boy, John Murray.

Paul Kruming reports the arrival on January 16 of his second son, Eric Julian. On a recent visit to Glens Falls I had a pleasant visit with Larry Kenney at the Glens Falls Insurance Co., where he is Agency Superintendent. He looked just the same as in College, except for a few grey hairs, caused, no doubt, by a busy summer and fall in which he moved his family twice and had a new son. He also has two girls, aged 11 and 9.
Hal Pierce is chief accountant o£ the E. R. Squibb & Sons Inter-American Corp., Caracas, Venezuela. He writes: "Have been in South America 7 years—2 in Peru, 2 in Chile, 2 in Argentina and 1 in Venezuela, acting as treasurer or assistant manager. My wife is Peruvian, now a naturalized American citizen. Met TomCarroll, my Dartmouth roommate, in Argentina by accident for the second time in 10 years. First time was in 1934 when his hat blew off on Fifth Avenue in New York and I picked it up. The Campaigner has followed me every- where like an F.8.1, man—how do you do it?
Ted Baehr started off recently on an extended trip through the Southwest and middle West with a list of '2Bers in the area which I gave him. A card just received tells of a luncheon with George Foster at Arnaud's in New Orleans.

Wes Smith's marriage has been mentioned here previously but at that time I did not have the bride's name or the date. A letter from Wes says that the date was Oct. 25, 1947 and that the girl was Grace Evelyne Smith, and points out that not only was his wife's maiden name Smith, but his mother's maiden name was also Smith. During the war years Wes was an investigator for the U. S. Civil Service Commission and was assigned to the State of Delaware. At the end of the war he transferred to the Veterans Administration where he is now a training specialist in the Special Rehabilitation Procedures Unit in Philadelphia. He works with paraplegics, amputees and veterans with orthopedic handicaps.

Major Bob Reed was recently appointed Executive Officer to Brig. Gen. W. E. Farthing, Chief of Transportation for the Air Force. His office is in the Pentagon in Washington.
The '28 Directory which I have been talking about and working on for months has finallygone to the printer and should be in the mail soon after you receive this magazine. Over 400 questionnaire post cards out of 627 were returned—a wonderful response as any questionnaire sender-outer will tell you. However. I must admit to writing 200 reminder cards and letters. For those who didn't respond, the latest information was secured from Dartmouth regional club secretaries, and from the Alumni Records Office while I was in Hanover for the January meeting of the Alumni Council.
The Directory will be our second—the first was incorporated in the Campaigner in 1939. This one will be a 5 1/4 x 8 1/2 inch book with three sections: (1) Alphabetical list of business addresses and titles; (2) Geographical index, and (3) Occupational index.
Grouping all occupations into six general fields (the Directory lists approximately 80) we have the following figures which may interest you: No. % ofTotal Business 459 76 Education 49 8 Law 38 6 Government 29 5 Arts & Letters 19 3 Agriculture 9 1.5
A summary of the occupational index shows that a high percentage (76%) of our Class is engaged in business, compared to 65% of Dartmouth '30, 51% of Harvard '24 and 58% of Yale '29, the only comparable figures available.
