The Big Green eleven closed its 1954 season by losing to Princeton in Palmer Stadium, 49-7. It was a ball game for the first half, which ended 7-7, but the Tigers came back to run up 10 points in the third quarter and five touchdowns in the last. Dick Thompson was almost single-handedly responsible for the last four scores. Dartmouth's lone touchdown was made by Captain Lou Turner after a McKenna-to-Pascoe pass had carried to the Princeton 5. The Big Green made only 86 yards on the ground, compared with the Tigers' 256, but completed 13 of 27 passes for 173 yards.
