One of our largest and most enthusiastic group of local alumni and friends were at the Lower Merion Senior High School auditorium in Ardmore on April 9 to hear the spring concert of the Dartmouth College Glee Club. Many favorable comments have been received on the voices heard that evening.
A vote of thanks must be given to the many alumni who helped to make this concert a success, especially the following: Bill McMahon '42, chairman of the activities committee; Smed Ward '43, chairman of the publicity committee; Bob Emlen '38, chairman of the housing committee; Jim Tindle '36, Bob Binswanger '50, and Jack Young for distribution of posters and contact with local schools; Ed Byrkit '47, finances; Buck Mansfield '44, coordinator; Jack Heston '28, contact of prospective students; and Bill Miller '46, mailings, printing, and ticket sales.
We welcome Lt. (jg) Doug Gray '51 into the Philadelphia area. Doug is with Naval Intelligence at the Philadelphia Naval Base. We were sorry to hear that Dr. Denis Sullivan '19 has been ill in the hospital with coronary thrombosis and hope that he has fully recovered by this date.
We hope to issue in the very near future an Alumni Directory of all alumni living in this area. This will include an alphabetical listing with home and business address and type of work, grouping by class, and finally, a business directory with alphabetical listing of services offered. In order for this to be complete, we request that all local alumni submit this information on the card mailed to you as soon as possible.
Plans are now being made for our annual picnic at the Valley Forge Farm on or about Saturday, June 26. Complete information will be mailed later.
