Luncheon Every Wednesday Noon, Danny sRestaurant, 516 Grant St.

The annual Dartmouth Night celebration drew only 27 of the faithful, the smallest crowd in years. We trust that the other hundred and some who should have been there had a good time with Bill Eaton in Hanover. The cocktail hour was pleasant and the dinner was as advertised: excellent after a dozen martinis. President Fred Garfield presided., but he had a cold in his wit, fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how many times one has had to listen to Fred's rather limited repertoire of jokes.

George Scott introduced the guest speaker with a polish and sincerity that marked the oratorical zenith of the evening. Our guest speaker was "Doc" Carlson, ex-University of Pittsburgh basketball coach, and one of the most loved and respected sports personalities in Pittsburgh history. Doc impressed us with an excellent stag wit and some vivid recollections of Dartmouth both past and present.

Sam Ewart provided the musical entertainment with all the excellence of much practice. Cliff Alexander managed the projector while we relived the agony of . last year's football season.

Rem Sonny Drury has been named the new head of the enrollment committee, taking the place of Merrill McLane, who is being transferred from the Pittsburgh area. Merrill founded the committee and has built up some excellent connections with many of the Pittsburgh schools. We all believe that Rem is just the man to expand on the foundation that Merrill has provided.
