Chase Bequest

FROM the estate of the late Dr. Henry M. Chase '97 of Boston the College has received a bequest of $1,000 to be added to endowment. The Henry M. Chase 1897 Fund, set up last month in the exact amount of $1,008, will have its income credited to the annual Alumni Fund along with the contributions of the Class of 1897 so long as there are any living members of the class.

Dr. Chase died on February 15, 1953. A graduate of the Harvard Medical School in 1901, he was surgeon-in-chief at the Boston Dispensary for more than 25 years, a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, and a Captain in the Army Medical Corps in World War I. Dr. Chase was secretary of the Dartmouth Club of Boston in 1912-13. Member of a well-known Dartmouth family, he was the son of Dr. Henry M. Chase '64m, the brother of Philip M. Chase '09, and the uncle of Hamilton Chase '47 and P. Minot Chase '50.
