Will F. Nicholson '22 was elected Mayor of the City of Denver in a spirited run-off election in June. He is setting a high standard of office and operating at a fast pace. We have attempted to keep up with him in our local activities this summer and many of our undergraduates and alumni have contributed.
Kent Rickenbaugh '59 was host to his classmates and the admissions committee for dinner, and a good baseball game between the Denver Bears and the Indianapolis Indians, with Joe Marx '59 travelling from Glenwood Springs, Colo., to attend.
On June 29 under the guidance of LewWilliams '38 our annual picnic was held at the farm of Ned Grant '30, Littleton, Colo., and a good turn-out of members reported an excellent time. The Class of '59 fielded a complete baseball team and easily overwhelmed the alumni, despite the efforts of EddieToothaker '32 and Dick Catron '50.
On August 27, our Squaw Picnic was held at Newton Park with 35 couples enjoying a picnic supper in the mountains. Lee Brekke '40 led the campfire singing, and John Chilson '59 came down from Loveland, Colo., to participate.
We regret to report the death of Bruce N.Carson '51, who was killed in an automobile accident on August 28, and we certainly will miss his participation and friendship in our Dartmouth activities.
