The Dartmouth Club of Cleveland is justly proud of each of the representatives from our area now on the campus. So it pleases us when the contemporaries of these 59 students confer on them distinctions of one sort or another. The latest honor belongs to Dave Robinson, Class of 1959, who was recently elected Treasurer of the Freshman Class. He is the son of Clarence Robinson '23, a stalwart in local club affairs.
A committee is now at work completing plans for the annual Christmas Luncheon to be held this year on December 28 at the Hotel Statler. This occasion has long been the most popular meeting, when alumni, undergradu- ates, prospective students, and fathers gather together. This year we will be welcoming to town for the first time Tom O'Connell '50, who comes to give us the latest news of the College. Tom is the Assistant to President Dickey, so is well qualified to report on all of the recent developments.
A report just in from the Committee on Scholarship Aid indicates how steadily our Cleveland Scholarship Fund has grown. While it is still a long way from supporting a full tuition grant, we are proud of its growing size. Net proceeds from last spring's outstanding Glee Club concert and the profits from the tea dances of the past two years were recently added to the Fund. It is a project in which the whole Club has an interest and a stake as we try to accumulate enough money to give effective assistance to a worthy boy from our area.
The Schools Committee is doing a fine job in the many high schools around town. There have been College Nights at two of the largest schools when Red Flynn '29 and his committee have done a good job of representing Dartmouth to the interested boys. Those working with Red on this important job are Al Hutton '41, Frank Heath '31, Warren Crumbine '36 and Lee Chilcote '30. They have used movies from Hanover to make more graphic to the students the beauties of the campus and the appeal that Dartmouth has for young men.
