Playing an abbreviated spring trip schedule and hampered to some extent by injuries to key players, Coach Tom Dent's varsity lacrosse team won a single game and lost three. Hofstra defeated Dartmouth in the opener 12-5, while Princeton handed the Indians a 12-7 defeat and Maryland rolled to a 16-6 win. Dartmouth, however, managed to drop Adelphi College by a 19-3 score for their lone victory.

Four key men were injured during the trip, but are expected to be ready for the league games. Defenseman Randy Hayes, goalie Clem Malin and attackmen Tom Conlon and Eddie Dodge were all on the injured list at times during the trip.

Attackmen Captain Ray Lenhard and Ron Campion led the Dartmouth scoring with Lenhard getting seven goals and five assists, while Campion got ten goals. Behind these players the scoring was fairly evenly divided.

On defense for Dartmouth, after Hayes was injured, were veterans Wally Pugh and Chuck Huntley, with sophomore Zeus Stevens and a converted midfielder, jim Hill.

Clem Malin, veteran goal tender, was injured in the Hofstra game but returned later wrapped in bandages. Cal Perry took over for Malin in the nets.

Ron Campion, Ray Lenhard, Cal Perry, Steve Winslow and Paul Tiemer are the top attack men for the Indians, with Tim Anderson, Mel Battles, Jerry Sachs, Bob Spencer, and Tom Conlon on the midfield line.

Coach Tom Dent is reluctant to make any predictions at the moment in view of the injuries which are still causing some shuffling around of personnel. "The boys are shaping up," says Dent, "and, of course, we didn't do very well on the spring trip because we hadn't had any chance to work outdoors. We're starting to roll now and by the Syracuse opener (April 23) we should be in fairly good condition."
