Let's start off this month with some Turkey Hill Road, Greens Farms, Conn., chatter.... Chuck O'Neill and Ernie Moore sent an item also confirmed by the N. Y. Times. New Yorkers read in their October 10 morning papers that Frank McCord, along with a bespectacled young man, is now a vice-president of Ted Bates & Co., Inc. Frank is manager of the research department. Better appoint him to your committee, Chuck. Congratulations, Frank! Ernie, as you might know, is an old timer with Jantzen, manufacturers of those stretch-and-tug garments so necessary to the middles of man's most faithful companion. He covers New England out of Boston, including trips to New York to see his boss, who incidentally is an old Peoria friend of mine and a grade school pal of my wife. He has recently seen Winslow, Brummer, Bean, Gristede, Red Rolfe, Holland, and Holbrook.

A clipping Ernie sent also reports the marriage of one Judith Nims, daughter of Charley and Marjorie Nims, to Jarvis Hunts of North Attleboro, Mass., on September 9. Charley's family wasted no time is using the extra dough he is getting from his additional banking connections announced in last month's column. Dick Henry: Ernie wants to know if you are a friend of Paul Yu-Pin, D.D., Archbishop of Nanking. Charley Sullivan is a member of the Board of Government of Catholic Alumni Sodality, Boston, Mass. Thanks Ernie for all this news.

Ed Brummer, member of our executive committee, and owner and operator of Woodbound Inn on Lake Contoocook, Jaffrey, N. H., is not forgetting his job of preparing for our 30th reunion. His letter asked for suggestions from Executive Committee members for our 30th. I'm sure he would welcome them from any member of the class and would be pleased to hear from you now or later.

Our class treasurer, as you know, is Pete Evans. He writes: "I have made an abrupt move to Flint, Mich., about the middle of September, which got the class bills well fouled up. Checks sent to me in Philadelphia the last half of September didn't reach me for some time so I double-billed 22 men in the October 1 mailing. Have seen that outstanding Flint-citizen, Durf Day several times since coming here. Spent the weekend of October 6 in Philly, but was too smart to go see the Green courteously end Penn's three-year losing streak, and had a peachy game of golf instead. The financial reputation of a treasurer should of course be beyond reproach. SO, will you in your class news ask the lady to whom I owe $10 to step forward? ... I grieve to say that I forgot who she was." Hey, Durf, are you still with J. C. Penny Co. in Flint, and what is your specific job now? Well, thanks Pete, for your letter and I hope the class dues are coming in heavy. That's the way we pay for our subscriptions to the ALUMNI MAGAZINE, so get your five dollars rolling to Pete Evans, c/o E. I. Dupont Co., Flint 2, Mich.

This guy Hank Richmond really gets around. At least he is back in the U.S.A., for we received a card from Skytop, Pa., signed by Al Torras, as well as Hank. Hank's cross-country training in college has certainly served him well in his business. Are you still V.P. of Consolidated Cork, Al? Send us the latest poop on yourself.

One of the nicest phases of class secretary is not only the direct correspondence, but also the copies of letters made available. Here is a fine one from Bill Grant to Si Leach, dated October 11: 'lt is very sad indeed to hear about Bill Geiger, but very pleasant to hear from you and Jack Reno (ed. I think he refers to the chain letter which it is hoped comes back to Macomb in time for the January column). By a copy of this letter I am sending on your note to John Nelson who, as you know, is a most successful pediatrician in Denver. My brother Ned '30 and I with ten children were about his first patients, but needless to say have retired from the list and are leaving the field to younger people. X am stumbling along trying to run a radio and television station which I know nothing about, called KOA, and which I understand some- times can be heard in Manitoba, meanwhile practicing law with my left hand. I was very disappointed to miss our 25th reunion, but maybe I can make our 30th. Why don't you buy a wheat elevator in Denver before we all get too old to enjoy it?"

It would be beneficial to get the class records more complete as to just what job each of you is now holding. There have been but few entries since the late '40s and early '50s. Also, we would like to have a word from you as to any of your sons who have attended Dartmouth or are now attending. Please give their class, and let us have this soon. We'd like to run a column on this before long. Also, any changes in marital or family status should be reported to your class secretary. '31 UP, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
