THE Dartmouth Board of Trustees held its annual winter meeting in Hanover on January 13-14 and had a chance to review College affairs with President Dickey before his departure this month for a four-months trip to Europe. No news announcements came out of the meeting, but matters for discussion by the Board included the Ford Foundation's recent gift of two million dollars and a report by the Advisory Committee on Plant Development, which was asked by the Trustees last spring to make a comprehensive review of the Hopkins Center project on a revised basis.

The following week, January 19-21, the Dartmouth Alumni Council met in Minneapolis for its mid-year sessions, and a large delegation of College officers, headed by President Dickey, traveled from Hanover to take part. Except for the 1938 Pow Wow gathering in San Francisco, the Council had never before met west of Chicago.

Twelve representatives of the College in Minneapolis for the Council's 91st meeting included President Dickey; Provost Donald H. Morrison; Vice President and Treasurer John F. Meek '33; Sidney C. Hayward "26, Secretary of the College; Edward T. Chamberlain '36, acting director of admissions; George H. Colton '35, executive secretary of the Dartmouth Development Council; Robert K. Hage '35, director of financial aid; Nichol M. Sandoe Jr. '45, executive secretary of the Alumni Fund; Prof. Herbert R. Sensenig '28, faculty representative on the Council; Football Coach Robert L. Blackman; Michael McGean '49, assistant to the Secretary of the College; and Charles B. Keenen '52, assistant to the director of admissions.

Roger C. Wilde "21 of Chicago, president o£ the Council, presided over the meetings at the Hotel Radisson. Provost Morrison spoke at the Friday luncheon and President Dickey addressed the Council at its Saturday morning session. In conjunction with the Council meetings, the Dartmouth Alumni Association of the Northwest held its annual dinner on Friday evening, January 20, with President Dickey and Coach Blackman as the principal speakers.

A third January gathering devoted to the administrative work of the College was the annual Class Agents Clinic in Hanover on the weekend of January 13-14. New agents who will direct the Alumni Fund campaigns in their classes this year met with Fund executives and several veteran agents to learn about general policy and the details of their jobs.
