The Class of 1956 from the Philadelphia area turned out 21 strong (out of 32), most of them with dads, to swell attendance at our Freshmen Send-off Dinner on Thursday, September 6, to a record 66 men.

Sophomore Jeff Pannitt ’65 as our speaker offered a tantalizing blend of wisdom and humor which made both alumni and ’66 dads wish for younger days. Also on the bill were two movies; "1961 Football Highlights" and “Dartmouth Newsreel 1959.”

The next special item on the Club agenda is a TV party to watch the Harvard game on Saturday, October 27. Plans should be jelled by the time you read this. Dues-pay- ing members and alumni new in the area will learn the details from our Club News- letter.

On Saturday June 23 we had our annual family picnic. The day began rainily, but Club President Rev. Jim McElroy ’3l did a good job of keeping open the pipeline to heaven. The rain stopped not more than a half-hour before the 2 p.m. starting time, and the sun shone through on host Jim Tin-dlc ’36’s Valley Forge Farm, When 6 p.m. closing time arrived, the rain resumed.
