Here are important dates to keep in mind - June 8-9-10 — when 1904 will hold its 52nd reunion in Hanover. Word from the College has been received that it will set aside reservations for the Class in South Mass. Hall. It will be the week of Commencement. Make your reservations early.
Last month I mentioned the fact that MattBullock was spending the winter in Curacao, Dutch West Indies. A letter this week from Carl and Marion Woods tells of their cruise to the West Indies, having lunch with Matt in Curacao and spending the day with him. The Woods arrived back in New Orleans in time to view the Mardi Gras.
Nice note from Bess Bowles - from Charles-town, N. H. Amasa is feeling pretty fair, though fighting a siege of bronchitis, and has thrown the pipe and cigars away. Their daughter Bette is on the staff at the Mary Hitchcock Hospital in Hanover.
Tom Streeter's financial report of the Class is at hand. Please send him a note of appreciation for his services, along with your check for Class dues.
That man Hobbs never writes the Secretary, so he failed to mention Perce and Blanche celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in October. Congratulations to bride and groom from the Class. Blanche, the first fifty years are the hardest.
Speaking of weddings - Sally and Beck received a Valentine from Pat and Ann Manning, February 14. Ann said they celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary on Valentine's Day. Congratulations! Pat and Annl We'll see you in Hanover in Tune.
Ike Maynard sends a clipping from the Portland, Maine, papers about a swim meet held recently, in which his grandson Elliot proved to be a champion swimmer. "Gramp" got so excited he darn near fell in the pool himself. More power to the Maynards.
Anna Uniac sends a lovely note in which she speaks so appreciatively of letters received from classmates at Christmas time. We all share with her the affection we had for Tommy, whom we all loved.
Sid and Louise are back again this winter in Sarasota. He spends some time with a number of classmates who are wintering along the Gold (Gulf) Coast. A letter from Ralph Sexton says he may try to get to Vero Beach and join Gene and Kate - Beck and Sally and possibly Whit and Vilda at the home of the Brooklyn Dodgers.
Recently received are two new addresses of classmates Dr. Albert L. Hill, 295 B St., Joseph Ave., Long Beach, Calif., and Arthur Warner, c/o A. G. Phelps, Danbury, Conn.
The Iron Curtain is down from the Mississippi River, West. Not a word from any of the gang - all month. Too busy - with Floods, Tornadoes and Weather Conditions, no doubt. When the dust settles and the waters recede, boys, drop a line to your Secretary.
The balance sheets and earning statements of the Hooker Electrochemical Co. and the Dictaphone Company are at hand. Mr. Bartlett and Mr. Woodbridge may well be proud of the records their Companies have made this past year.
If Ike should decide to run for President of the United States, it is planned to have present at our reunion in June Mr. Louis Leverone of Chicago and Mr. Peter Maguire of Boston, Mass., who will deliver addresses on behalf of their favorite candidates. An admission fee of five dollars will be charged - the proceeds to go toward the Hopkins Memorial Fund. Those classmates who were present at our dinner in Boston three years ago will well remember the speeches these two men made at that time.
Cheerio. See you, June 8-9-10, in Hanover.
Secretary, 100 North St., Pittsfield, Mass.
