Sign in the window of an antique shop: "If you think this stuff is junk, just come in and price it." Which has no bearing on the contents of these notes!

In addition to the dawn-to-dusk activities Bud and Tex Doe apply to their apple orchard project in Harvard, Mass., Tex puts in hours daily during the summer in charge of Fruitlands Museum, an educational restoration project of early 18th-century mem- orabilia including, among others, furnishings and possessions of Louisa May Alcott. Bud has a couple 6' 51/2" sons to relieve him in his huge orchard business. In their "spare" time, they roll out the carpet for visiting friends. What a team!

Captain and Mrs. Bob Griffin announce the marriage of their daughter Andrea Wadsworth to Mr. Keith Roderick Kepler at Pasadena back in October.

The Eben Cloughs and the Kike Richardsons disported themselves at a picnic lunch down near the old Ledyard site prior to the Brown game in Hanover. Eben is still smacking his lips over Pearl's cookies and some new cheese Kike unearthed. At the game they saw the Ned Sheas, the Don Benninks, the Bob Bigelows and the Sid Bulls.

There's quite an article in a Buffalo newspaper about the rehabilitation work Howie Fuller is doing as VA Hospital manager there. He has established work therapy projects of many varieties reaching into all phases of human activity and is constantly bringing volunteer groups in to augment their efforts in providing a touch of normal living to patients. His is indeed a dedicated life.

The Class extends its deepest sympathy to Joel Harris in the loss of his wife who died suddenly on September 29 while on the way to church. Their only child Jeanne has a career position as curator of Far Eastern Art with the Nelson Art Gallery in Kansas City.

Al Sherman comes up with a unique rejoinder to Russ Rice's greeting on his "dues notice" - to wit: "I retaliate." That kind of retaliation (a check) is OK with you, eh Russ?

Hal Davison was en route to their Utilities Convention at Memphis, so couldn't make the Harvard weekend festivities - much to his regret. Ralph Brown was also sorry to miss said festivities due to other commitments. I'll bet Ralph feels pretty good about finally winning an increase in New York telephone rates. (Who are we subscribers to squawk—the service is worth it!)

Doc Noyes suggests we elongate the class dues bill form with a heading and space for news items. He says: "The bill has to be paid, the envelope is all addressed, and there'd be no excuse for not using the available space." Maybe he's got something - Mr. Treasurer, please make note!

Marian Redfield reports that Dick is coming along fine — he can walk and swim, but cannot play golf. Although considerably restricted, he's making progress and seems happy. Joe Comstock sends a cheery greeting from Los Angeles. Dutch Scharmann thinks time flies too fast. His son is now taking an architectural course at Columbia, after graduating from Dartmouth last June. Says Columbia is nice —but it isn't Hanover!

Here's an unusual way to send a man's thoughts into retrospect.' Johnny Pendleton wrote a check the other day, which was numbered 1915, and immediately wrote us a letter. Johnny retired from U.S. Gov't Corps of Engineers in Washington on September 27 and is now in the throes of getting his Social Security squared around to meet the issues of life. On the side, he's running a bowling league and is worrying about his bowling average. Aiming at that perfect string, Johnny?

We occasionally hear of cases where a wife or husband is doing yeoman service in taking care of a stricken mate. May we take this occasion to salute such persons with a reverent: "Hats off to you."

Although you'll be reading this in December, it is written while "the spell still remains" of that grand and glorious weekend in the environs of Cambridge where the "Boston Massacre" was adequately reproduced in more or less faithful detail at the Harvard Stadium. It was good football in the first half. What went on in the second half (to say nothing of between halves) might well be forgotten. The Kike Richardson brunch party preceding the game was its usual huge success. As a bartender, Eben Clough rates with the best. As for the victuals, well - you all know the Richardsons the cheeses, the cold cuts, and the hors doeuvres were out of this world. If you want to know who was there - everybody and his brother! The Forerunner 1915 dinner after the game exceeded expectations. 54 classmates, wives and guests partook of a good dinner and re-uned to their hearts' content. Jack Ferguson with his flash camera got in plenty of shots and, in keeping with the intent and atmosphere, it is better that he give a blow-by-blow description in his Frontiersman News Letter - which will probably be in circulation before you read this. It was really a great night for us all. The night-before stag dinner at the University Club was another standout. 1915 was the "freshman" group of some ten previous classes and I believe I'm correct in that we had the largest class turnout of all — 20 at our table. Those present were - Dale Barker, Gus Braun, Eben Clough, Charlie Comiskey, Ed Dewing, String Downing, Larry Edgerton, Chan Foster, Charlie Griffith, Casey Jones, Roy LafEerty, Marty Martin, Phil Murdock, Doc O'Hara, Kike Richardson and guest Walter Goss, Russ Rice, Al Sherman, George Simpson and Jim Sisk. A telegram of greetings was received at the Forerunner dinner from Helen and Kell Rose who were prevented from attending by Kell's hospitalization and a suitable niteletter reply was sent them later that evening. I am sure that all those who were unable to be present were with us in spirit.

At a meeting of the Executive Committeeof the Class in Boston on October 26 a suitable resolution was passed expressing thegratitude of the Class for contributions tothe College by one of our classmates, whoprefers to remain anonymous, and approvinghis suggestion of a fund set up with theTrustees to be known as Class of 1915 Faculty Fund, to which additional contributionsby him or any other classmate may be madefrom time to time. A copy of the completeresolution is on file with your Secretary.
