Certainly the most important news from the point of view of the Class as a whole was the meeting of the Class Executive Committee Friday afternoon before the Harvard game in Boston. It has occurred to me that perhaps this column has in the past reported too lightly on the business aspects of these meetings and too heavily on the social activities that go along with' the meeting. Consequently, let's look first at what transpired at the business meeting of the Executive Committee. There were present the following: Rollie Booma, Jack Rich, Al Marsters, Bud French, Hank Embree, Charlie Rauch, Blakey, Condon, Tiedtke, Bob Bottome, Chilcote, Putnam, Keene, McFarland, Borella, John French, Wiggin, VanDerbeck, Watson, Raymond and Si Chandler. The meeting was held in the Directors' room of the John Hancock Life Insurance Company, which was arranged through the good offices of Harry Condon.
The first item of business related to the fact that there are 83 remaining copies of our Twenty-Fifth Reunion report. Chairman Borella was authorized to make arrangements for retention and storage of these copies together with the responsibility for distributing copies as need might appear. You will all be relieved to know the treasurer, Wally Blakey, reported that the Class was solvent with a balance as of August first of $1,868.00. The number of dues-paying members is 349, the highest in many years, if not ever. A grand showing.
All of you read in Charlie Raymond's newsletter of the extremely successful informal reunion held in Hanover on October 12. It was not only successful socially but even appears to have been self-sustaining. There has been active discussion of a repetition of this affair and it was the general consensus of opinion that another one should be held in Hanover next fall. Attempts will be made to take over a nearby hotel or inn which would enable the Class members to see more of each other over the weekend than is the case when the group is scattered over the Hanover area.
Jack Rich as Class Bequest Chairman reported on his work looking to those members who could to make plans for bequests to the College. He has had active communication with a substantial number of men in the Class, many of whom have made provisions of one sort or another in their wills and several who have indicated an interest in making some such arrangement.
Fred Watson as Class Agent reported that the final return on last spring's alumni fund drive of $22,200 which was within $288 of the Class quota. His chief concern seems to be that last year some of the fellows had fallen by the wayside with the result that our participation was down somewhat from earlier years.
Finally, various other matters of interest to the College as well as the Class were discussed at length in a meeting which lasted from 2 o'clock in the afternoon until 4:45. The determination of the location of next year's Executive Committee meeting will be determined by a poll during the year although the Boston group extended an invitation to return there and Bob Bottome extended a sincere invitation for the group to come to his hometown, Caracas, Venezuela.
The pleasantness of the Executive Committee get-together was greatly enhanced by the presence of so many women. On the social side, the Jack Riches entertained a group at a cocktail party at the Union Club on Friday night, the Haffenreffers entertained at the Ritz Carlton with cocktails and a buffet luncheon before the game. And on Saturday night most of the group went out to Rollie Booma's in Swampscott where, we understand, a grand time was enjoyed by everybody. During the course of that evening Chuck Faye called in from the west coast to pay his regards and find out the score of the Harvard game. Your secretary was unable to be in Boston "for the weekend and consequently has no report on all the other classmates who must have enjoyed the Harvard game.
On the political front, we hear that Tom Dunnington will be a candidate for councilman-at-large in Dover, N. H. He previously has served on the common council and school committee and is treasurer of the local Republican City committee and is a Representative to the State Legislature.
We have news of the election of Gene Zagat as a director of the Broadway Association Inc., a business and civic organization with a membership of 1200 property owners along the entire length of Broadway. In this election he succeeds his dad, Dr. ' Paul H. Zagat, a charter member of the organization. Gene at the present time is vice president and treasurer of Paul H. Zagat & Company, Inc., the Phoenix Realty Corporation, and' various other real estate corporations.
Congratulations to Fran Horn who has been appointed Distinguished Visiting Professor of Higher Education at Southern Illinois University.
Congratulations of another type to Art Behal and his wife on the arrival of a candidate for the Class of 1980, Arthur Bamberger Behal Jr. on October 21. The Class of 1930 bids the new arrival welcome.
Here's a very interesting letter from Blair Wood out in Waterloo, lowa which certainly indicates the Dartmouth influence continues out in that area. Blair says
"We have been much closer to Dartmouth since my oldest boy, Mike, entered last year. He has been active on the Dartmouth freshman ski team now a member of Cabin and Trail and Phi Kappa Psi. He is at least as enthused about the college as his father ever was and seems to be interested in much the same activities.
On their return from our 25th reunion the Wood family which includes four sons stopped off at their thirteen acres on the Brule river in northern Wis. and in some four weeks time built themselves a beautiful cabin. The whole area is affectionately known as the Black Hawk County A'ps and hosts a winter ski carnival annually. You can see that Dartmouth has not failed to leave its mark way out here in the provinces."
In Englewood, N. J., Mr. and Mrs. Mitsujiro Takagi have announced the marriage of their daughter, Yukie, to Bertram Gross. Mrs. Gross is a graduate of Dwight Morrow High School and received a bachelor's degree from Wells College where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She holds a Master of Nursing and a Master of Science from Yale. She will continue in her present position, mental health nursing consultant for the Territorial Health Department in Honolulu. Bert is also connected with the Territorial Health Department and for those who would like to send along a note, the couple will be living at 2947-A Kalakaua Avenue.
Speaking of far-off places like Honolulubrings us to that perennial item in the column, the changes of addresses, which follow.

Sam Stayman has been good enough to help the column out by reporting on a couple of other fellows as well as himself.
"Jess Lichter removed himself and family consisting of 1 wife, and 3 daughters to Mexico City in July. He has opened a branch factory for the firm with whom he is associated manufacturing Vinyl products. Ed Nye has taken a new job this year with the Petrie Chain of retail shops and I think he is quite _ happy there. His son Dick entered Harvard this year.
"As for myself I continue battling away in the woolen business and it's not exaggerated that textiles has not been a bed of roses in the past few years. I have participated recently in two national bridge tournaments and the World's Championship when I was lucky enough to be on the U. S. A. Team. In May I went to Europe to play in an international Pairs' Tournament in the South of France and was lucky enough to win. My daughter Sue entered High School this year and is growing like a little weed."
Unless you surveyed the financial section of the papers on October 14 you may not be aware that J. Brooke Willis has been promoted by the Savings Bank Trust Company from economist to vice president. Congratulations.
While this is being written early in November, this is our last chance to wish all of you and yours a happy, peaceful Christmas season.
