Word has been received of the death of Joseph Augustine O'Connor, a classmate who left college after two years. His death at his home in Vancouver, B.C., is more fully reported in the In Memoriam column of this issue.
Harold and Mrs. Niles sailed recently to Nassau, where they will spend a few weeks' vacation.
Harry Warner was in Boston January 18 and 19. Bill Smart reports that a small reunion luncheon was held in Harry's room at the Ritz Carlton. Besides Bill, there were present Billy Grimes, Harry McDevitt, and Bish Niles. Most of the afternoon was spent reminiscing. All plan to be in Hanover for the 50th reunion.
On January 12, the class officers with Harry Storrs and Dick Southgate held a meeting to plan for the 50th. In the afternoon Judge McLane, Sam Bartlett, Phil Chase, Harry Storrs and Dick Southgate attended the official opening of the Dartmouth Skiway at Holt's Ledge.
George and Fern Liscomb were in Hanover for Christmas. George has rarely missed a commencement in years and is sure to be here next June.
Leon Sprague writes from Anna Maria, Fla., that an '07 reunion is being planned there some time in February. Leon, Bob Kenyon, Allan Brown and Don Houghton seem to be the nucleus and are planning to attract several more.
Duke Sanborn writes that he and Bill Walker are partners at contract bridge nearly every day at the Shuffleboard Club, St. Petersburg, and if there are any worthy opponents in '07 they will be glad to take them on in Hanover next June.
Forty-six classmates have signified their intentions of being present at the 50th, and we know that there will be many more. Only three have written that they will be unable to be present. Rooms are being reserved at the Inn and a dormitory will be assigned to the class. If you wish to stay at the Inn, make reservations immediately.
