The North Shore Dartmouth Club held its Annual "Sports Night" dinner at the Tedesco Country Club in Marblehead, Mass., on December 5. One hundred and fifty alumni and wives were entertained by Head Football Coach Bob Blackman and Ski Coach Walter Prager. This is the first time the ladies were invited to this usual stag event but the interest of the fair sex in both football at Dartmouth and in skiing in general brought a large mixed attendance. Bob showed moving pictures of high spots in Dartmouth's successful 1956 football season and his usual wit and keen memory of every play made the running commentary unusually interesting and alive. Walter Prager brought us up to date on skiing activity at Dartmouth and described the new Dartmouth Skiway. He also showed films of Carnival events which were enjoyed by all. An impromptu singing group of former Dartmouth skiers rendered several selections dedicated to their former ski coach, bringing down the house and somewhat startling Walter.
President Ned Richardson '29 conducted a short business session and introduced a group of ten high school seniors from the North Shore and their fathers who were invited as guests.
Hal Booma '30 was in charge of arrangements and was assisted by Dr. Bob Liming '43, Dr. Howie Nichols '29, Ralph Ardiff '29,Austie Knight '48, Dick Southwick '45, and Dick Hill '41.
President Richardson informed the group of the successful enrollment meeting held at the Hotel Hawthorne in Salem, Mass., on November 25 at which 50 boys from the area were given an opportunity to hear about Dartmouth from Charles Keenan and to see the moving picture "Dartmouth Visited." Enrollment Chairman Charlie Brown '42 and Es Crowley '41 headed the affair.
