The Dartmouth Club of Rochester's Annual Dinner on Tuesday, February 5, at the Valley Echo Inn featured Head Football Coach Bob Blackman, the announcement of officers for the coming season, and a rousing crowd of 75 Dartmouth alumni and wives.

Al Marsters '30, former All-American, introduced Coach Blackman who gave a brief resume of what life on the enthusiastic Dartmouth banquet trail was like, as well as a run-down on the 1956 football season and prospects for next year. This followed the customary dragooning of next season's officers into line. Ed Leene Jr. '43 is our president for 1957-58. Bill Hale '44 expects to do absolutely nothing as vice-president; Jack Carey '49 looks forward to a dismal year as treasurer; John Greisberger '46 continues to slog along as secretary, with Ralph Watkins'51 helping out as assistant secretary.

The outgoing slate gave its reports. Of prominent interest was Jack McCurdy's summary of the Dartmouth Regional Scholarship Fund for the Rochester area which is contributed by the Rochester Dartmouth Club. Proceeds from the drive this year stand at $862. Started in 194.9, the fund aims to support, someday, four undergraduates at Dartmouth at one time from Rochester. Gary Albright '58 of Rochester currently holds a $700 stipend.

In connection with the Rochester scholarship Frank M. Hutchins '45, General Chairman of the Dartmouth Glee Club Concert which will be held in Rochester on Saturday, March 23, outlined the prospects for augmenting the fund through the Glee Club appearance. Proceeds from the concert will be added to the Rochester scholarship endowment.

Dick McSorley '50 led a vigorous but somewhat inconsistent rendition of "Eleazar Wheelock," which changed key at least five times.

Prof. Arthur E. Jensen, Dean of the Faculty (seated, center), was guest speaker at a Dartmouth dinner in Sarasota, Fla., in February. Seated at the table are (l to r) Ernest J. Eddy 01, Roger Pope '20, Mr. Millard, Dean Jensen, Mr. Hillerich, Albert H. Schilling '02 and F. B. Edgerly '04.
