On March 4, Rochester was entertained by the College glee club in what was supposed to be our "oft year" for the glee club. However, this was a special occasion: a joint concert with glee clubs of the University of Rochester, Hamilton College, and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Theodore Bloomfield. The concert was a great success. The joint performance of "Testament of Freedom" by Randall Thompson was an exciting and unique experience. It was felt by some (perhaps out of partisan spirit) that the undefeated glee team came off still undefeated in the individual glee club performances featured during the first half of the concert.

After the performance, most of the 2,800 people in the audience adjourned to the Sheraton Hotel where two bands were playing for dancing. From all standpoints, it was quite an evening.

Congratulations are in order for Jack Carey '48 and John Greisberger '46 for laying the ground work of the concert, and a great deal of credit for the size of the audience (almost capacity) goes to Bob Van Reypen '47 and Ernie Turner '33 and their enthusiastic ticket sellers.

A local wah-hoo-wah to: Bob Strasenburgh '42 on being elected to the Alumni Council by the upstate New York alumni clubs; Dr. Henry Crawford '25 on being awarded a Fulbright Scholarship (Dr. Crawford leaves in mid-June for Lucknow, India where he will be visiting professor of orthopedic surgery for a year); Ed Kidd '54 on becoming a partner in the general insurance firm of Bailey, Potter, Kidd, Incorporated.
