A note came from Jim Huntington in which he invites Stella and me to come with ChesterStudwell to the old place where he lives for lunch on our way to the class reunion. He thought he could get Frank Moore and his wife over and maybe Art Ruggles. That will be a most delightful occasion. I have accepted with the proviso that the meeting meets with the approval of Chester.
Last week came a letter from Frank Drake written and mailed in Thailand. He is on a world tour, has been to countries of South America. From there he goes on to the Eastern Hemisphere. He will be back in time for our reunion.
I suppose each of you has received a letter from Ernest Watson under date of March 28. In this letter he tells of the various events. On Friday evening cocktails will be served from five o'clock till dinner when Ross McKenney, the Outing Club's woodcraftsman, will speak.
On Saturday evening the regular class dinner will be served. We shall see a series of the latest and best color movies of life on and off the campus.
Wattie says there will be no other "musts" "because of the generally expressed wish that this may be a cozy, easy-going chatty gathering of old friends that time has drawn closer together in spirit and in appreciation of each other."
I suppose you all, like me, are filled with longing to see all the dear faces once more. I have been reading again Wattie's list of those who will attend. Each name brings vivid memories of its bearer. I grieve that so few widows will be present. I wish they all realized how welcome they would be.
