A Major Convocation
MAY 1957

A special, three-day convocation on the theme of Anglo-American relations will be held by Dartmouth College early in September, before college reopens, it was announced by President Dickey as this issue was going to press.

Lewis W. Douglas, former U. S. Ambassador to England, will be chairman of the convocation, September 5-7, and prominent figures in American and British politics and intellectual life are being invited to participate. The program of a major address and four panel discussions on the theme "Great Issues of Anglo-American Relations" will have a dual purpose: to contribute to a better understanding of world problems and to mark the tenth anniversary of the start of Dartmouth's Great Issues course in 1947. Alumni awards for distinguished achievement are also planned.
