The new head of the Scottsdale (Ariz.) Sheriff's Posse is William (Bill) G. Gilmore '34 who has been a mainstay in helping the Dartmouth Alumni Club of Phoenix get on its feet. This new command puts Bill on 24hour call for all types of emergencies out of the sheriff's office.
Club activities as a group have slowed down for the summer, due to the many alumni away for the hot months. However, the slate of club officers elected at the eleventh annual meeting late this spring are making plans for an active club year starting in September. The new club President, William E. Miller '51, with the help of his other officers (Dr. George B. Kent Jr. '44 - Vice President, Jack B. Huntress '33 - Secretary, and George R. Snelson '55 - Treasurer) has organized a series of meetings and club activities for the '58-'59 season.
Despite the 118-degree temperature reached in Phoenix this July the Dartmouth alumni are managing to keep cool. George Snelson manages an ice skating rink and gives special welcome to Dartmouth alumni. Bill Gilmore '34, Don Norton '44 and Jack Huntress '33 beat the heat by watching their children win blue ribbons in the state swimming meets.
