Several classmates have suggested that we stage a reunion in St. Croix next winter. Last month we reported that eight '28ers got together in St. Croix without any advance planning. A note from our faithful reporter, John Phillips, says that Jack and NancyHeston should have been included in the list of '28ers vacationing at St. Croix. With rum only 85¢ a bottle, Phillips says he'll be glad to host a cocktail party! Any suggestions for other attractive winter reunion sites?

Ed Abbott was married Feb. 14 in Tenafly, N. J., to Aline Margaret Swart, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Freeman Swart. They are living at 750 Kappock St., Riverdale, N. Y. Ed is the producer of two of the most popular afternoon TV serials.

David Ranney '61, son of Dee and the late Bud Ranney, has just published a book, "Planning and Politics in the Metropolis," which he dedicated to his father. Dave is an assistant professor, Department of Regional Planning, University of Wisconsin. A younger brother, Michael, is now in the Navy after getting his Master's degree at the University of Pittsburgh earlier this year. Bud and Dee's oldest son, Phil '58, an attorney in Cleveland, was installed last January as president of the Lakewood Board of Education, the youngest man ever to serve in that post. He follows in the tradition of community service set by his father, who was president of the same board at the time of his death in 1957.

Although he couldn't get to our 40th, Jack Cook finally made it to Hanover for a couple days while John '69 is still in college. He writes, "I am staying with him in the Sigma Nu house, getting acquainted with his friends - and reacquainted with the ghosts of my past!" John has been accepted at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and will start there in September if his draft board doesn't contact him first.

Bill Carrico says he and Mary take most of their vacations at Lac Du Flambeau in northern Wisconsin, where the Indians live, and even like it up there in the snow. Bill is president of Carrico & Wilgus, Inc., a Rockford, Ill., real estate and insurance firm.

Eleuthera is the favorite vacation spot for Elliott and Ann Donnelley. Elliott sent us a card from Nassau on his way to Eleuthera, where he was returning after a quick business trip to Chicago.

Jack and Cornie Herpel report they had a grand time in Nassau.

A card from Helsinki from George Slawson says he and Isobel are again hopping around Europe on their annual tour, and enjoying every minute of it. They started in Stockholm, and plan to hit Leningrad, Warsaw, and Berlin before heading for their favorite stamping ground of London. By the time they get back to Craftsbury Common in Northern Vermont, the snow drifts should be gone from around their house.

Roger and Alma Sundeen and Wayne andJean Van Orman are taking a month's vacation together this summer, flying to Sweden, then to Norway, Finland and on to London for a week before returning on the Queen Elizabeth II. Wayne has been lugging a cast around —he slipped on ice hidden under fresh snow and broke his ankle.

Our one and only screenwriter, Lou Pelletier, finished his fifth picture for Disney, titled "Smith!" which was released at Easter. He just sold an original screenplay that will be filmed in London this summer. He is a happy man, who says, "I get paid incredible sums for doing just what I like to do. . .. Hobbies? Luckily I haven't got any. We like to travel. I like to buy a sports car, read books, and have a few drinks on Saturday night. Granchildren: Two girls, 16 and 13. Beautiful, of course. ... What else does anyone need? I have survived and gotten away with more than my meager talents deserve and I weigh the same as the day I drove out of White River Junction for the last time. I hope never to retire or get bored. This is a very large order, I probably won't make it."

Bill Watson and Wendell Lane died in March, both a few hours after suffering heart attacks. Our heartfelt sympathy goes to the members of their families.
