Since receiving your Bulletin No. 1 from the Reunion Committee, you have undoubtedly been thinking much about the SIXTIETH in Hanover, June 6 to 8 (or perhaps the 9th, as can be arranged in advance). Possibly you are taking up the matter with other '98ers whom you especially wish to see on that occasion: or arranging to pick up a classmate on the way from your home to Hanover; or planning an extension of the celebration by remaining in town through Hanover Holiday's interesting series of talks, _ a sort of short postgraduate course — or having a few days at the old home. Your Secretary has not yet suggested to the Reunion Committee his idea of offering a pair of shoes as a prize to that member of '98 who travels the longest distance to our gathering, or tickets for the entire family to the Class Dinner to that member who brings with him the greatest number of wives and direct descendants.

As we write these Notes the Hopkins Dinner is about to be held in New York, bringing together one of the largest, if not the largest, gathering of Dartmouth men ever held outside Hanover. It certainly is destined to be an exciting and memorable occasion. We would all like to be there to give a Wah-Hoo-Wah for "Hoppy."

A few days ago we had the pleasure of a call from M. W. Smith along with his niece Eleanor Hoft, who looks after Uncle Melvin most generously, as we noted when we observed him in profile. Like the rest of us he is restrained from working in his garden by the very unusual cold weather this winter (Californians please ignore). When any of you next see Harry Clark be sure to obtain from him an account of his surprise at the story of Oscar Tabor and the moose in Boscawen, N. H. This is quite a story after Harry's own success in telling his eastern unbelievers some of his experiences in Oregon in past years. We hear that Ev Snow is still recuperating from his illness at Gould Farm, Great Barrington, Mass. We also learn that Bucky Chandler is "travelling pretty slow" for some weeks after a sudden illness at Christmas time. We wish them both a full and not too slow return to good health again. We hope both will be in Hanover in June.
