At the Dinner of the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, on the 77th birthday anniversary of Franklin D. Roosevelt, January 30, the following classmates were present: Doc and Hazel O'Connor, Harold and Billie Freund, Nelson and Hazel Doe, and Heinie Urion, - Irma being laid up with the flu.

Classmates have received the first communication from the Reunion Committee regard- ing our "Official" 45th Reunion to be held June 9 to 11 at Hanover, which evidences the extensive and careful preparation that Garry Garrison, as Chairman of the Committee, and the Committee Members have made. This has also gone to the Class widows with a cordial invitation to each of them to attend and participate in the Reunion. The program of events for Monday, June 9, Tuesday, June 10 and Wednesday, June 11 that accompanied the communication, is complete with the single exception of the place for our Class meeting on Tuesday morning. It is to be hoped that every member of the Class will plan now to be at the Reunion.

From the number of letters that he has received, it is evident that many classmates saw Doc O'Connor on television when he appeared with Hazel, at their cottage at Warm Springs, Ga., for an interview by Ed Murrow on his "Person To Person" program on the night of December 20. Dick Plumer's widow, Eva, who was confined to the Orlando, Fla., Air Force Base with the flu, was able to witness the show only by last-minute permission to use her television set in a room where it would not disturb other patients.

Al Smith and his new wife are wintering in St. Petersburg, Fla. Alvie Garcia's cigar company, "Garcia y Vega, Inc.," is celebrating its 75th year of business. Alvie's son-in-law, Carl J. Carlson, who is also with the firm, was elected president of the Cigar Manufacturers Association of America at its annual convention in December. That association was formed largely by Alvie's efforts some years ago, and he was its first president.

Hi O'Neill's widow, Dorothy, who now lives in Birmingham, Mich., wrote on her Christmas card to Doc, that she was sorry to miss the March of Dimes lunch in Detroit to which Doc had invited her and classmates in the vicinity. She recalled our 25th Reunion which she and Hi attended, and it is to be hoped that she will be at our 45th Reunion next June.

Those who were at our 35 th Reunion certainly will remember Pike Child's attractive and vivacious daughter "Little Lynda." Shortly thereafter she married Lt. James Fritz who became a war casualty. Before Lt. Fritz was killed, they were at Cornell University for awhile and got to know Boss and Esther Geller intimately. Recently Boss got a clipping from Lynda showing pictures of her and her eight-year-old son in their Florida home. Lynda is a former Cypress Gar- dens "Aqua Maid." She has water-skied in Esther Williams' movies and performed in a Water Ballet in the movie "Aqua Lovely." More recently Lynda has turned to writing. Last fall's television spectacular featuring Frank Sinatra, Rosemary Clooney and Bing Crosby, was based on material submitted by her to the show's producer.

At the National Alumni Dinner in honor of President-Emeritus Hopkins, at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, on February 5, the following members and their wives of the Class of 1912 were present: Doc and Hazel O'Connor (Doc was seated on the dais); Randy Burns, Eddie Luitwieler, Doctor Stan and Frances Weld, Jim Steen, Lee White, Henry Van Dyne, Garry Garrison, Nelson and Hazel Doe, AI and Aline Eiseman, Harold and Billie Freund, Rollie and Lily Linscott, Dick and Gladys Remsen and Heinie Urion.
