Elsewhere on these pages Coach Tom Dent offers his own observations on the 1959 season. Since last report the Dartmouth booters lost close games to Harvard and Williams by identical 2-1 scores, and were dropped by Yale, 3-1, before they wound up the season by downing M.I.T., 5-1, and taking their lone Ivy League victory with a 4-1 win over Cornell. These results gave the Dartmouth soccer team an overall record of four wins and six defeats and a 1-5 record in league competition.

With only five seniors on the team - Captain Mitch Engel, Don Betterton, Nick Muller, Sam McMurtrie and Jay Crane - the Indians have hopes for improvement next fall. Coach Dent was pleased with the closeness of most of the games and with the manner in which some of the sophomores developed as the season went along.
