CONSTRUCTION is well along on a 39-unit motor inn that will be operated as part of the Hanover Inn. The two-story motel is centrally located in Hanover, on the south side of Lebanon Street near the Hopkins Center and almost directly across from Rogers Garage. Several old frame houses were razed to provide the site.
The Board of Overseers of the Hanover Inn decided upon the associated motor inn in answer to the need for more accommodations near the campus, especially for the Commencement and reunion periods, and for special weekends and other times throughout the year when alumni, student dates, parents and guests are in town. Plans for the motel were drawn by the Hanover architect, W. Brooke Fleck. Each of the twin-bedded units will have a dressing area and tub-shower bath and will be equipped with telephone, television, air-conditioning, and instant coffee-maker. Each unit will have a parking space. It is expected that construction will be completed about May 1.
