On Monday, December 21, President Dave Pittenger '50 welcomed 75 alumni, applicants, and their dads to our annual Christmas luncheon at the Knife and Fork Club here in Detroit.
Bill Coughlin '43 did a nice job in arranging for the luncheon. Newcomers to the area, Clark Murphy '54, Dick Bowlen '30 and Joe Slattery '32 were among those present. Dick Brown '29 was seen with his son, Bill '63, who seems to be enjoying Hanover almost as much as his dad did some thirty years ago. It was a toss-up between Creight Holden '40 and Dr. Cleto DiGiovanni '53 as to which came farther - Creight from his St, Clair Inn, Cleto from Ann Arbor. It was a snowy day.
Phil Moon '40 did his usual fine job of handling the projector. Dave Muhlightner '61 brought us up-to-date on the goings on at Hanover and the doings at the college; he did a very admirable job. Dave Mott '45, Bill Merrill '45, and Casey McKibben '51 were seen talking to one of the applicants regarding the merits of Hanover. Fred Husk '17 managed to get away from the brokerage business and was seen talking to Bob Grow '33 and Stan Westbury '53. Brothers Don '36 and Dave '35 Williams appeared within five minutes of each other. Scotty Turnbull '61 was much in demand by the doorman, as the latter was seeking the owner of a foreign sports car blocking an emergency exit; Scotty thought it might be his.
All in all, a fine time was had and we are looking forward to a bigger and better turn-out in 1960.
