Once again the Dartmouth Club of Miami joined with the Dartmouth Club of the Gold Coast (Fort Lauderdale) for our annual dinner and meeting with a representative from the college as the principal speaker. This year's meeting was held at "Out of this World Inn" run by Bob Loewi '33, and about the half-way point between Fort Lauderdale and Miami. Sixty-five alumni and wives gathered for cocktails and an "out of this world" buffet dinner on Thursday night, January 28. Judging from the many fine comments relative to the evening and particularly the buffet, Bob is due a Wah Hoo Wah or two, for helping to make this such a fine success.

President, pro tem, of the Miami Club, Joel Wertheim '54 did a masterful job in M.C.ing his first meeting, welcoming the Gold Coast group headed by Prexy RalphSethness '38, who was too bashful (?) to sit at the speakers' table, and calling upon the oldest grad in attendance, Dr. Frederick R.Sanborn '99 to take a bow. Then to the raison d'etre of the whole affair, a flowery introduction of the speaker of the evening Orton H.Hicks '21, Vice President of Dartmouth College.

Ort's talk, was really very entertaining and comprehensive. He really "covered the waterfront" so to speak, everything from the inception of the Capital Gifts Campaign, its successful conclusion, the building program, the student body, the faculty, the three term set-up, and the fourth term or summer session with coeds, the athletic program and other extracurricular activities. The consensus among those present is that Ort did as fine a job of enlightening us on the college and its problems and hopes, as any speaker we have had down here in the "deep south."
