The Dartmouth Club of New Canaan, which was organized in January of this year, held its first official dinner meeting on April 6. Forty alumni from the towns of New Canaan, Wilton, Ridgefield, North Stamford, Conn., and Pound Ridge, N. Y., welcomed Prof. John Stearns '16 to the inaugural dinner held at the New Canaan Country Club.

Following the dinner, Club President, Jack Gunther '29, paid tribute to Harry Gilmore '01, Ned Redman '06 and Markey Pullen '22 who together conceived the idea and pushed for the formation of the local club.

Prof. Stearns provided an enlightened and humorous insight into many of the developments under way in Hanover, and a lively question and answer session was in full swing when the professor had to leave to catch his train back to New York.

A color film of the Dartmouth Ski-Way was shown following the formal program.

The New Canaan Club, which is the 122nd official Alumni Club, operates within the Western Connecticut Association but seeks its membership only from the towns named above. Alumni living in any of these towns are cordially invited to participate in the Club's activities.

At an organizational meeting in January the following were elected as Club officers: Jack Gunther '29, President; Dave Taylor '37, Vice-President; Ken Sutherland '50, Treasurer: Vail Haak '49, Secretary; Ross Pearl '25 Program Chairman; Manny Sprague '33, Enrollment Chairman.
