Coach Bob Blackman's presence on March 14 highlighted the New Canaan Club's second annual dinner meeting. Thirty-five men from the towns of New Canaan, Wilton, Ridgefield and Pound Ridge met at the Roger Sherman Inn for cocktails, dinner and "an hour of Blackman."

Most of the New Haven commuters were congratulating themselves on surviving the previous night's fiasco, which saw the customary one-hour ride from Madison Ave. stretched out to no less than eight. (For details see Time March 24.)

During a brief business meeting Jack Gunther '29 was re-elected Club President for the coming year; Harvey L. "Dusty" Rhode '39 was elected vice president; and Vail Haak'49 and Ken Sutherland '50 were re-elected Secretary and Treasurer respectively. Plans are under way for a Western Conn. Association dinner in May for members and wives with the Injuneers providing the entertainment. Also "on tap" for New Canaan Clubbers is a cocktail party at the Gunthers sometime in June.

One sidelight from our treasurer's report is worthy of note, to wit, our first request for dues last fall brought returns from 72 men or 55% of our membership. Many thanks.

Secretary, 2A Harrison Ave., New Canaan, Conn.
